London is planning to build multiple "cycle superhighways," among other improvements for bikers.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan has announced a budget that will double the cycling infrastructure spending of the city's previous mayor, Boris Johnson. "This week, he promised to inject £770 million ($978 million) of new funding over the next five years into improving London’s cycling infrastructure and conditions," according to a story from Feargus O'Sullivan in CityLab.
This funding will be spread across many projects. "The most eye-catching point in the plan is the creation of two new cycle superhighways, as broad, properly segregated bike lanes in London are called," O'Sullivan writes.
Enthusiasm for these types of projects has continued to grow, with Mayor Khan's election and vocal support for bike transit. Recent studies have shown that London's investments in bike infrastructure are already paying off. "Bike lanes are now transporting 46 percent of all people," O'Sullivan reports.
