A boardwalk reconstruction project in Roackaway Beach, funded by FEMA after Superstorm Sandy, has money leftover. The public is invited to help decide how the money gets used.

"Residents can send along their thoughts on a wish list of Parks Department projects to be paid for by up to $120 million left over from the federally-funded boardwalk reconstruction project [in New York's Rockaway Beach]," according to an article by Katie Honan.
Nine projects are on the table, including "a renovation of Bayswater Park, a raise shoreline in Edgemere to mitigate flooding, new amenities at the Rockaway Community Park in Edgemere and a kayak launch at Thursby Basin in Arverne."
More details and the rest of the proposed projects are detailed in the Rockaway Parks Conceptual Plan.
