The Executive Director of APA drafted a response to a County Commissionin Georgia that decided to abolish the planning commission. That news itemwas circulated earlier this month on one of the listservs. This responseexplains the value of planning: "Local governments have long been the principal stewards of land resources through the enforcement of building and land-use laws that both benefit the entire community and protect each individual's property rights from abuse by another."
