Ottawa's Light Rail extension took a step toward reality when it was approved by the National Capital Commission (NCC). "Having the rail underground means more green space and better access to the waterfront, said Martin Barakengera, the senior land use planner who made the presentation to the NCC board," reports Adam Kveton in Metro News. If construction moves ahead on schedule, the line will be built in 2018 as the city completes the Confederation Line.
