Architect Rafael Viñoly designed the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts in Philadelphia and lead the "Think Team" that designed a proposal for Ground Zero.
"Mr. Viñoly, 58 and stoked by black coffee even at sundown, is a black-clad wraith with a madcap nimbus of silvery hair that serves as a nest for one of the three pairs of eyeglasses he keeps tethered to his neck at all times. This is no affectation: this is a security blanket. He gets hysterical if he loses his glasses. Architects, he says, are only as good as their vision. And his vision is all over New York City."
