Friday, February 10th is International Winter Bike to Work Day—a day citizens around the globe will try to pedal through snow drifts and ice patches. Croatia Week Online Magazine reports that last year the city of Zagreb had the most participants in Europe, and is hoping to defend its title. For the first time, university students are able to pledge to participate. So far, Zagreb leads the pack with the most participants pledged, followed by Novi Sad, Serbia; Montreal, Canada; and Calgary, Canada. Traverse City, Michigan is the highest ranked U.S. city at no. 16. Other cities participating include Boulder, Colorado, Duluth, Minnesota and Winnipeg, Canada. You can still sign up and pledge to ride at winterbiketoworkday.org.
