New York Post real estate columnist Steve Cuozzo offers a scathing and gutsy indictment of the the 'Libeskind Express' proposal for the World Trade Center.
"It is inconceivable that a governor, aware that Downtown is the engine of the state's economic health, would sign off on Libeskind's grotesque, anti-urban, anti-commercial eyesore seemingly conceived to suck what life remains out of the Wall Street area... It is hard to imagine that World Trade Center leaseholder Larry Silverstein - or any real-world commercial developer or tenant - could live with Libeskind's plan, anchored by a 70-foot-deep pit - whoops, "sacred space" - and defined above ground by frightening knife-edge facades and Kafka-esque angles."
