'Blue Shirt' Might Stay In Closet

At a time when northern cities want to shed their "rust-belt" image as manufacturing centers, a piece of proposed public art in Milwaukee reinforces that very notion. But it might not do so for much longer.

Milwaukee's chance to try on the "Blue Shirt" will have to wait. And if County Executive Scott Walker gets his way, that wait could be an eternity. New York artist Dennis Oppenheim told county officials this week that he will miss Friday's deadline to install the daring public art sculpture on the Mitchell International Airport parking garage and asked for three more months.
