The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) has partnered with veterans group to provide free transit to the city's veterans.

U.S. veterans will get free bus rides on RideKC in Kansas City.
"The KCATA, in partnership with the Kansas City Veterans Administration and the Veterans Community Project, said the free fares are a way to honor veterans." Robert A. Cronkleton reports for the Kansas City Star. The program is open to the more than 100,000 veterans currently living in the city.
Starting this past Tuesday, March 21, any veteran with valid proof of military service and Missouri residence may ride free. The program is sponsored by the Greater Kansas City Labor Unions/AFL-CIO.
