Drought Brings Gardening Ban

Aurora residents are banned from planting new vegetable and flower gardens as the city enacts the area's toughest drought restrictions.

"Aurora officials announced Tuesday that residents can plant trees, shrubs and perennials until May 3 but cannot plant any annuals or vegetables or put in new lawns from now through the end of the year. Trees and shrubs can be watered only with deep-root or drip irrigation until May 3, when still-to-be-announced watering restrictions take effect."
