As an article in Builder puts it: the 'Inland Empire Strike Back' with a large new masterplanned community in Riverside County. This region, hit particularly hard by the housing crash of the Great Recession looks ready pick up where it left off.
John McManus reports on a new 961-acre, integrated age-qualified and all-ages market rate masterplanned community, called Terramor, which held a grand opening of its first new home neighborhood first new home neighborhood, Cortina, this week.
McManus says the community is a "classic case-study in customer segmentation programming lessons learned from the latest housing cycle." In another era, according to this characterization, Terramor might have been marketed as a drive until you qualify enclave with access to the job centers located in Los Angeles in one direction and Orange County in another.
In an email to Planetizen, Foremost Companies, the developer of the project, says Terramor has options for both 55+ and all-age buyers, and they expect the multi-generation trend of the development's business model to be a model for other developments. Following this week's opening of Cortina, the Ardena neighborhood is planned to open in June 2017, the Sorrel and Caraway neighborhoods are anticipated to open in summer 2017, and the Sterling neighborhood is expected to open in winter 2017.
