The Illitch family is continuing to reveal details of the big vision surrounding the new home to the Detroit Red Wings.
"Christopher Ilitch on Friday announced plans for 686 residential units to be developed in and around his family's District Detroit project and the Little Caesars Arena," reports John Gallagher.
"With the arena itself nearing completion against a September target and parking garages and retail and office space now almost done, the residential projects marked the last big piece of the Ilitch district plans to be announced," adds Gallgher.
The new development plans were foretold in February 2016, as Gallagher and JC Reindl reported that development interest was following the arena plans. The arena faced criticism for lacking public benefit despite taking public subsidies earlier in its development history.
