Not since 1987 has a taller building been added to the Dallas skyline than a planned 48-story tower that could be complete in two years.
"Chicago-based developer Amli Residential is building the tallest tower in Dallas in three decades," reports Steve Brown. "The 45-story apartment high-rise will go up on Field Street on downtown's north side."
Austin-based architect Page Southerland Page Inc. has designed the building, which will cost $150 million and take residence in the city's skyline next to I.M. Pei's Fountain Place. Speaking of which, Brown recently reported on major renovations of that icon of the Dallas skyline. The new building will be located on a parking lot that had formerly been planned for a second Fountain Place tower.
