Scenic America's annual list of the 10 most threatened scenic landscapes includes marshes, New England towns, a plantation, and scenic highway corridors on both coasts. They are threatened by airport expansion, cell towers, forest clear-cutting, and sprawling residential and commercial development. Scenic America's President Meg Maguire said the organization doesn't want to end growth and development, but see that it's done "in a way that doesn't destroy the character of a place or the natural beauty that drew people there to begin with."
