The residents of Portland, Oregon are moving across the Columbia River to Washington for a better planned quality of life.
The rhetoric is rising between two of the nations leading states where land use planning is mandated for cities and counties. On the banks of the mighty Columbia River, the states of Oregon and Washington are blaming each other for the fact that residents are fleeing from Oregon to live in Washington. Planning, taxation, education and economic development are at the root of the fact that Oregonians are moving across the river at the rate of 400 people per month to the new promised land.
