The Chicago Tribune's editorial board argues that congestion pricing will not only decrease congestion, but also make the city more attractive to people and businesses.

The Chicago Tribune editorial board weighed in on Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) and Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) efforts to curb traffic on the highway with an argument for congestion pricing. "A solution they’ll examine that has worked elsewhere: congestion pricing, under which motorists pay for the privilege of bypassing gridlock," writes the editorial board of the Chicago Tribune.
The editorial is eager for congestion pricing, which includes pay lanes for highways, to free up space by making it more expensive to drive. "Some cities that rely on congestion pricing waive the fees for car poolers, which means fewer cars clogging highways," the Tribune writes.
