"Dueling plans to streamline mass transit in South Florida are on a collision course in Tallahassee.In one corner, county commissioners and business leaders in Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade counties are backing a bill that would raise annual license tag fees by $2 to convert Tri-Rail into a new regional transportation authority. In the other corner, state Rep. Connie Mack, R-Fort Lauderdale, wants to tap into revenues from one cent of the gas tax collected by the counties to pay for the new agency."
