The 1,312-kilometer-long Chongqing-Taiyuan high-speed rail line opened for service in China on December 28, 2017, along with the 300-kilomter-long Shijiazhuang-Jinan line. The Chongqing-Taiyuan line will make the trip in 9.5 hours.

A pair of articles on Xinhua Net provides images from opening day and a few facts about each. According to the article on the Shijiazhuang-Jinan, the openings represent "significant progress in the construction of the country's high-speed railway network, which involves four north-south routes and four east-west ones."
