The proposed mixed-use North Rim Village development, influenced by New Urbanism, would be the first true neighborhood in the San Antonio suburbs.
"North Rim Village would give the public what no other suburban project has given in the past 50 years -- a neighborhood that integrates housing, shopping, offices, civic space and park land on a street grid designed to make walking an efficient and pleasant mode of transportation." To do this, "the project breaks all the rules of San Antonio suburban development. The rules say that stores and eating places go over here... and offices go over there, in single-purpose "office parks" where you'll starve to death if you don't drive or pack your own lunch."
