A Skyline-Changing Pair of Towers Proposed in Portland

A "once-in-a-generation" redevelopment plan, called for in Portland's Central City 2035 Plan, has inspired big thinking from architects and planners.

"Portland, Oregon–based William Kaven Architecture (WKA) has revealed the full vision behind the firm’s eye-catching proposal to add a pair of interlinked high rise towers to downtown Portland’s 32-acre mixed-use Broadway Corridor site," reports Antonio Pacheco.

The article includes renderings and a plan view of the Broadway Corridor project—the two interlinked towers anchor a "neat grid of mid-rise structures surrounding the expaanded [sic] greenway, with a site plan indicating that the new developments will be connected by a new underground transit station."

The proposal was created in response to an RFQ released by the economic redevelopment agency Prosper Portland in October 2015.
