Two university campuses and a Dan Gilbert-owned campus will be among the first wave of driverless shuttle testing grounds.

"The University of Michigan’s campus in Ann Arbor, MI has launched the testing phase of a passenger service for two driverless shuttles on a set route," reports Chris Teale.
The shuttles will be built by French company Navya in the nearby town of Saline, Michigan. Navya also launched a similar pilot run for driverless shuttles on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus this month, and is already testing vehicles in Las Vegas, Paris, and Christchurch.
Elsewhere in Detroit, "MayMobility, a local startup, is trialling a fixed-route AV microbus shuttle service for employees of Bedrock Detroit, the commercial real estate firm of entrepreneur Dan Gilbert," reports Gregor Macdonald.
