Tired of facing beach erosion and the threats of hurricanes in Florida, but still want beachfront property? This new suburban community is simply building its own beach.

Twin Creek Development and Encore Capital Management is developing Beachwalk, a 1,100 acre mixed use development that will include 761 single-family homes and twin villas and 175,000 square feet of retail when completed. While suburban developments like these are common in Florida, this community features an interesting amenity. Developers are currently constructing one of the largest man-made basins in the country, which will create a 14-acre lagoon and man-made, white-sand beach.
