"Many people in Orange County think solar is the solution to the world’s energy problems, which is in direct contrast to the majority of U.S. citizens, who think the continued pursuit of petroleum products is OK... This growth in solar is largely due to the influence and productivity of architect Mike Nicklas and his firm, Innovative Design in Raleigh, whose focus is on energy-efficient, environmentally sensitive design. That means environmentally friendly building materials, passive solar heating and cooling, photovoltaics, natural daylighting and solar domestic hot water and space-heating systems."
