New Yorkers are ratting out rats.

"New Yorkers are well aware the city has a rat problem, and they are getting more vocal about it," reports Lara Korte in an article that might be behind a paywall for some readers.
"Complaints about the rodents to the city’s 311 line rose 10% last year and have risen each year since 2014, according to a recent analysis, conducted by the apartment rental site Renthop.com," adds Korte. Brooklyn leads the boroughs in the total number of complaints, but there were more complaints per square mile in Manhattan.
It was a year ago that New York Mayor Bill de Blasio announced a $32 million initiative to mitigate the city's rat problem. It would appear that the initiative hasn't swayed public perception of the vermin problem. For more rat-related content, see also a post about the 2017 "rattiest cities" rankings.
