Broadway at Van Cortlandt Park

New York City Department of Transportation / DOT Broadway CB 8 Proposal

"There’s a brand new two-way protected bike lane on Broadway next to Van Cortlandt Park, which immediately stakes a claim as the best on-street bike lane in this part of the city," reports David Meyer from New York City.

The project moved along quickly since overcoming opposition from Bronx Community Board 8 in March, but the project has been in the works for much longer, as Meyer has documented at numerous steps along the way.

Now the final product is visible on the street and Meyer reports the new bike lane also offers improved pedestrian access to the park.
