On May 3, the public could take rides with a new fleet of self-driving cars in Las Vegas.

Aptiv (formerly Delphi Automotive), has announced the launch of a fleet of 30 autonomous vehicles in Las Vegas, Nevada, according to an article by Adam Frost. The new fleet will operate on the Lyft network. "The two [companies] will make use of Aptiv’s connected services capabilities and Lyft’s ride-hailing experience to provide valuable insights into self-driving fleet operations and management," reports Frost.
"On an ‘opt-in’ basis, passengers will be able to hail a self-driving vehicle equipped with Aptiv technology to and from high-demand locations," adds Frost. The partnership builds on an initial pilot launched in January of this year, which provided more than 400 self-driving rides to the public. The new fleet of Aptiv AVs operating opened to the general public in Las Vegas on May 3.
