The overpass is being built just east of Hyak and Snoqualmie Pass to connect the north and south Cascades. Three riparian underpasses are under construction nearby to offer safe passage to salmon.Together, the $6.2 million project is creating a wildlife superhighway.
According to Alvarez, the wildlife overpass is part of a larger $900 million project to add two dozen more crossings in a 15-mile section of I-90 as it crosses Snoqualmie Pass.
