Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez expressed disappointment with a plan to build an AirTrain to LaGuardia Airport in a letter to the Federal Aviation Administration.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-New York) has added to a chorus of doubt about the usefulness and effectiveness of a proposed rail transit connection to LaGuardia International Airport. Ocasio-Cortez's district includes the neighborhood around the airport.
"Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez sent a letter to the Federal Aviation Administration asking why the agency had ignored objections to the [LaGuardia Airport] shuttle project," reports Mathew Flamm.
The LaGuardia AirTrain plan, a signature initiative of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, would connect the airport to the MTA rail system and the Long Island Railroad.
According to the letter, the plan disregards 46 possible alternatives considered during public comment. Ocasio-Cortez is not the first to criticize Cuomo with regard to the LaGuardia AirtTrain. More context on the planning process so far is available in previous Planetizen posts.
