Officials in Virginia have approved a special tax district to raise funding for the extension of the Washington D.C. Metro to Dulles International Airport.
"The unanimous decision allows the county to raise $330 million in tax revenue from commercial property owners along the line to help fund its $420 million phase two share and three stops along the route - Reston Town Center, Herndon at the Toll Road and Monroe Avenue and Route 28.
The tax district will last no longer than 50 years from its inception or 40 years from the first tax levy."
