The office was designed by All of the Above, of New York, and Los Angeles firm First Office.  To break up the space, Grace Quah writes, the architects created four two-story boxes they call “houses.”  The “houses” are connected by a mezzanine dining and work area.

Pinterest’s new headquarters emphasizes flexible spaces and opportunities for contact and collaboration.  “We argued that a creative office cannot function on terms of efficiency, connectivity and productivity alone,” the designers wrote in a statement posted to Dezeen’s website.  “For each person to take part in the creation of company culture, we would need to counter the habitual environment of the desk, the conference room, and the corner office.”
