Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti announced $800,000 in funding for 15 "Great Streets" to be located around the city.
"Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti's office has identified the first 15 areas to be targeted in his initiative to revitalize dozens of neighborhood streets," reports Soumya Karlamagla.
The first 15 of the streets to be announced as part of the program included one location in each of the city's 15 council districts. The article includes the complete list.
This week's announcement marks the third occasion that Mayor Garcetti has touted the plan. "Garcetti first announced the program in October, and said that it would target up to 40 neighborhoods and focus a variety of resources on improvements." He also mentioned the program in his April State of the City speech, saying the streets would be "the standard-bearers of a revitalized city, one main street at a time."
