Aoude looks to the Ottawa Cycling Plan "to demonstrate, that with the right infrastructure and programming, biking can become a viable transportation option for those in the suburbs too."

The keys to Ottawa's success, according to Aoude, include prioritizing bike facilities, even in the less compact development patterns that many people still desire, and advanced multi-modal capabilities. In fact, for Aoude, the ability to combine multiple modes of transportation is "the true promise of biking in the suburbs."
