The protest isn't likely to work, but some locals will miss a fast-food joint that they say serves as a democratic oasis in the neighborhood.

Two Chicago resident "are in the process of organizing a protest to save the Taco Bell" in Wrigleyville, reports Shelbie Lynn Bostedt.
"When news broke that the Taco Bell (1111 W. Addison St.) would be shuttering within the year to make room for a “three-story retail development,” early Wednesday morning, the iconic restaurant’s fan base took to social media to express its outrage—and two Lakeview residents decided to do something about it," according to Bostedt.
"The protest will take place at the Taco Bell from 1-3 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring signs and banners, as well as their fondest memories of the ill-fated Taco Bell."
