Who's the happiest and healthiest of them all? The New York Times posts an interactive map of the national Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index.
"For the last three years, Gallup has called 1,000 randomly selected American adults each day and asked them about indicators of their quality of life. Responses are converted to the Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index."
The 2010 results are displayed in an interactive map by the New York Times, broken down by congressional district. You can change the map to show only individual factors in the well-being index - things like Job Satisfaction, Health Problems, Community Satisfaction, Food and Shelter.
So who's doing the best? Hawaii, Wyoming, Alaska, North Dakota and Vermont.
Who's the worst off? Kentucky, West Virginia, Ohio and Louisiana.
And where are the biggest discrepancies? Indiana, Illinois, California, Texas and Virginia.
